Former Bellator MMA fighter War Machine.

Former UFC fighter War Machine (formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver) is currently on the run from Las Vegas authorities. The controversial MMA fighter was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident that left two people severely injured. One of the alleged victims is his current girlfriend porn actress Christy Mack.

TMZ broke the news early Aug. 8.

Given War Machine’s past run-ins with law enforcement and the severity of the alleged crimes he’s now facing, Bellator’s new CEO Scott Coker has released him from the promotion.

“We have a zero tolerance policy here at Bellator when it relates to any form of domestic violence, and after learning of this latest incident involving Jon Koppenhaver, War Machine,” Coker stated in a press release. “Bellator is releasing him from his promotional contract with the organization.”

War Machine’s last brush with the law earned him a one-year sentence, and it sucks to see him end up in another bind. He’s a pretty entertaining fighter to watch thanks to his never-backdown attitude, but that same personality trait seems to get him in trouble outside the cage.

Hopefully, the MMA community reaches out to this troubled fighter and gets him the help we all know he needs before he hurts someone, or, most likely, himself.

Update: War Machine was picked up by U.S. Marshals early Aug. 15, at a motel in Simi Valley, Calif. He was handed over to the Simi Valley Police department and is currently being held at the Ventura County Jail.
