UFC on Fox 4 Predictions

The Ultimate Fighting Championships’ light-heavyweight picture will become a bit clearer after the “UFC on Fox 4” fight card. The event is scheduled for Aug. 4, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Here are my predictions for the entire UFC on Fox 4 fight card.

Maurício Rua versus Brandon Vera

Both men have had their share of problems recently, and that should give them extra motivation for their UFC on Fox 4 encounter. They’re both competent strikers, with solid BJJ games to go with it. However, “Shogun” is the more experienced MMA fighter between the two, and that should be the difference maker in the fight. I expect him to mix things up a bit better. Rua wins via decision.

Lyoto Machida versus Ryan Bader

Machida lost his last fight against current light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, but he’ll try to bounce right back when he faces Bader at UFC on Fox 4. Bader is an excellent wrestler, but Machida tends to do pretty well against wrestlers. Machida will also have a significant advantage in the stand up department, and I expect him to emerge victorious. Machida wins via KO.

Travis Browne versus Ben Rothwell

With a 4-0-1 record in the UFC, Browne will try to keep his undefeated record intact when he faces Rothwell on Aug. 4. Rothwell picked up a huge win in his last fight against Brendan Schaub, but I don’t think he’ll be able to derail “Hapa.” Browne wins via TKO.

Joe Lauzon versus Jamie Varner

Varner put on an impressive performance in his last outing against Edson Barboza, and I expect more of the same at UFC on Fox 4. He matches up well against Lauzon, and his wrestling should give him the edge. Varner wins via TKO.
