Efrain Escudero is back in the UFC, and against an aggressive Brazilian challenger Rodrigo De Lima, he was ready to give them a reason to keep him in a fan-friendly scrap.
Mexican-born Escudero utilized his excellent boxing skills early on during their UFC Fight Night 60 tilt, hurting De Lima and wobbling him at many points in the round. De Lima scored a takedown late, and scored with some solid ground work. Still, only one man really took a beating over the first five minutes.
That beating would follow Rodrigo De Lima into round two. He would move forward and work against the cage, to some avail, but took more heavy ground n’ pound off of his back and lost most of the exchanges when he was on his feet.
With the fight in the books as far as scoring was concerned, De Lima needed a show-stopper in round three. He wouldn’t get it, despite a strong show of spirit to make it through fifteen minutes of brutality at the hands of Efrain Escudero.
Escudero earned the unanimous decision win at UFC Fight Night 60, 30-27 across the board.
