UFC 184 Results: Alan Jouban sends Walsh to sleep with elbow

Two men with a combined 60% knockout ratio went to battle in a Welterweight contest. The end result was where all of the questioned lied, if the method was easy to anticipate.

Both having mixed success, and having faced adversity early in their careers, a win at UFC 184 was a must for both Alan Jouban and Richard Walsh.

A major opportunity could present itself for the victor, with the lesser man drifting into the background in the 185lb picture

Walsh was often the aggressor early on, rushing Jouban against the cage and throwing punches. He couldn’t hurt the Louisianan, but did the better work to begin the fight.

Soon enough, Jouban would land a piston-like elbow to the chin, and barely needed the follow-up right hand as “Big John” McCarthy pulled the curtains down right on key.

The stoppage came at 2:19 of round one for this hungry contender. Welterweights, beware, he is now 2-1 in the UFC.
