UFC 139 had its share of interesting fights, with former champions Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson putting on a performance MMA fans will remember for quite a while. Here are the results of the UFC 139 fight card, held on Nov. 19, at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.

Dan Henderson defeats Mauricio Rua

Both MMA fighters put on a show at UFC 139, with Henderson winning most of the exchanges early in the fight. Rua turned up his intensity in the later rounds, relying more on his grappling skills. Rua got the mount early in the final round, pounding out Henderson until the final bell. Unfortunately for Rua, it wasn’t enough as the judges gave Henderson the unanimous decision.

Wanderlei Silva defeats Cung Le

Le looked sharp in the first round, but Wanderlei started to figure him out in the second frame. Silva rocked Le with a high kick, following it up with a vicious barrage of punches and knees. Le tried to slow things down with a single-leg, but the “Axe Murderer” was relentless, blasting away with hammer-fists until the fight was stopped.

Urijah Faber defeats Brian Bowles

Very interesting matchup between two of the UFC’s top bantamweight fighters. Both men traded strikes for a majority of the first round, with Faber getting the better of the exchanges. Faber turned it up a notch in the second round, rocking Bowles with an uppercut and pinning him against the cage. Faber softened Bowles with a mix of punches, elbows, and knees before finishing him with a guillotine choke.

Martin Kampmann defeats Rick Story

Story made up for Kampmann’s technical superiority in the striking department with aggression and power early in the fight, but the Dane’s accurate right hands started taking their toll halfway through the MMA contest. Towards the end of the second round, Kampmann switched to grappling mode, taking Story to the ground and landing some solid shots. Kampmann continued the grappling in the third round, cruising to the unanimous decision.

Stephan Bonnar defeats Kyle Kingsbury

Bonner looked good against Kingsbury at UFC 139, softening him up with strikes in the first round and dominating with his grappling in the second and third. All three judges gave Bonnar the fight, increasing his win streak to three.
