UFC 130 Predictions

The UFC 130 fight event will feature the third match between two of the best lightweight fighters currently in MMA. Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard will step into the Octagon and do battle for the third time in their equally impressive MMA careers. The UFC 130 MMA event is scheduled to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 28. Here are my predictions for the UFC 130 MMA fight event.

Frankie Edgar versus Gray Maynard

This should be an all out battle just like the last time both MMA fighters met in the Octagon. Edgar should be feeling confident coming back from a devastating first round and earning the draw against Maynard at UFC 125. Edgar will outpoint Maynard and successfully defend his UFC lightweight belt for the third time. Edgar wins by decision.

Quinton Jackson versus Matt Hamill

Hamill is one of my favorite MMA fighters but he might run into some trouble dealing with Jackson’s devastating striking ability. Hamill will put up a respectable fight but will eventually fall to the former UFC champion. Jackson wins by TKO.

Frank Mir versus Roy Nelson

Probably the toughest fight of Nelson’s career, dealing with the former UFC champion Frank Mir is not an easy task for any MMA fighter. Nelson will have a hard time using his grappling skills against the Brazilian Jiu jitsu black belt and both fighters should be pretty even in the stand-up department. Mir wins by decision.

Travis Browne versus Stefan Struve

Stefan Struve will be motivated to put the first loss on Browne’s undefeated MMA record. Browne is coming off a tough draw with Cheick Kongo and will not be intimidated by Struve’s MMA experience. The fight should be very close but at the end, Browne keeps his undefeated MMA record intact. Browne wins by decision.

Brian Stann versus Jorge Santiago

Stann is on fire coming off his devastating first round TKO victory over veteran MMA fighter Chris Leben. I expect a similar performance from Stann as he adds another victory to his MMA record. Stann wins by TKO.
