Tony Ferguson stops Tibau with impressive first-round RNC

Gleison Tibau came in on a three-fight win streak, and with twenty-five UFC bouts to his name.

Tony Ferguson, an explosive puncher, had won four straight UFC fights — three by stoppage — and has a slew of excellent finishes under his belt.

This would be another. Tony Ferguson came out quickly, looking for his greatest career triumph.

Early in round one, Tony Ferguson rung Tibau’s bells with a straight punch, and, through a flurry of strikes, took down the Brazilian contender for what would soon turn out as the finish.

A rear-naked-choke came for the former Ultimate Fighter winner at 2:37, while Tibau was still stunned from the punches he took on his feet.

With this win, he is, unquestionably, ready for anyone in the Lightweight top ten. He is amongst the best, with his fifth straight victory coming in the UFC 184 Pay-Per-View opener.
