Gilbert Melendez defeats Jorge Masvidal
Neither man had any success getting the fight to the ground, turning the entire 25 minute bout into a kickboxing contest. Melendez clearly had the better hands, earning himself the unanimous decision.
“I’m proud to be a part of Strikeforce,” Melendez said after successfully defending his lightweight title. “Showtime is amazing, but you know what? They need to bring some guys over here to challenge me. I’d like to challenge the champ, whoever it is in the UFC. Come to my hexagon, and let’s fight.”
Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos defeats Hiroko Yamanaka
Santos immediately swarmed Yamanaka, knocking her down twice, pinning her against the cage and blasting away. 16 seconds was all it took, as referee Luis Cobian wisely intervened and stopped the fight.
Gegard Mousasi defeats Ovince St. Preux
Mousasi put on an impressive performance against OSP, completely dominating him in the first round, and doing more of the same in the second. To his credit, OSP refused to quit, escaping from several tough spots and securing a brabo choke in the final seconds of the fight. Unfortunately for OSP, it was too little too late, and Mousasi was awarded the unanimous decision.
K.J. Noons defeats Billy Evangelista
After a rough first round, Noons turned things around in the second, connecting with several sharp combinations. Noons continued outpointing Evangelista with his combos and constant movement in the third round, edging out the victory. All three judges scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Noons.

Eddie Mendez defeats Fernando Gonzalez (split decision)
