Mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Josh Thomson became the first man to knockout Nate Diaz at UFC on Fox 7, and it seems like Diaz is still dealing with the disappointing loss.
Nate lashed out at Thomson during an interview with BJPenn.com, claiming the Strikeforce import was "scared s**tless" when the two met inside the Octagon.
Thomson didn’t take Diaz' words kindly, and he quickly fired back at the Stockton native, claiming Nate didn’t even make weight for their UFC on Fox 7 bout. Josh remains open to the possibility of a rematch at 170 pounds.
"I am going to say this directly to him," Thomson said during his interview with BJPenn.com. "Nate, you didn't make the weight, so how are you going to make the weight when we fight again?"
Thomson's words certainly has come credibility, considering the fact there was a long discussion between Diaz, UFC president Dana White, and weigh-in officials before Nate's weight was declared to be 156 pounds (he weighed 157 on his first attempt and had to take of his clothes).
Thomson dominated a majority of their UFC on Fox 7 encounter, so there isn’t much of a demand for a rematch between the two California based MMA fighters. Besides regardless of his issues weighing in at UFC on Fox 7, it couldn't be any clearer that Diaz is better suited for the lightweight division.
He did give the welterweight division a try a while back, and things didn't exactly work out for him.
