Does Marcos Maidana deserve credit for his performance against Floyd Mayweather?

Boxing’s pound-for-pound king, Floyd Mayweather, had his toughest challenge in years, perhaps even ever, when he squared off against Argentina’s Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 3.

Maidana got off to a better start during their encounter, pressuring Mayweather early and often, but Money, once again, made the necessary adjustments, edging out a majority decision.

With some time to reflect on the fight, some are now saying Marcos Maidana doesn’t deserve any credit for his performance because of the many dirty tactics he employed.

Here’s a highlight of the most prominent infraction. What do you think? Does Maidana deserve any credit for the success he had during the fight, or is he just a benefactor of referee Tony Week’s poor officiating that night.
