UFC veteran Robbie Lawler.

I'm not sure if there is a better fight to be made in the piled-high Welterweight division than Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Brown.

That very fight is now booked for UFC on Fox 12 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, and will be televised live on Fox, a free-TV treat for MMA fans worldwide.

Lawler, #1 ranked UFC Welterweight, is no stranger to the cage. Having debuted in 2001 and made 34 cage appearances, his speedometer is cranked up, but his will-power and doughty approach to MMA is implemented each time out. They brought him within striking distance of a UFC title victory at UFC 171 against Johnny Hendricks, where he dropped a close unanimous decision.

Lawler was back in the cage just two months after the Hendricks fight, stopping Jake Ellenberger in three brutal rounds.

Matt Brown, 2012 comeback MMA fighter of the year, has been on a tear, winning seven straight UFC fights since going 1-4 in a strenuous 2010-11 stretch.

Brown's most recent win was in an emphatic fight-of-the-year contender against Erick Silva, whom he managed to stop in final round.

You can't take anything away from either athlete, but both will be eager to prove they are the better man when fight day comes around.
