Bellator 70 Results

Finishes were abundant on the Bellator 70 fight card, with only two fights requiring the services of the judges. Here are the results of the Bellator 70 fight card, held on May 25, at the Orleans Convention Center in New Orleans, LA:

Rick Hawn defeats Brent Weedman

Weedman certainly came to fight at Bellator 70, but Hawn looked like the better fighter, winning a majority of the striking exchanges and scoring with a few trips. All three judges gave Hawn the nod, making him the Bellator season-six lightweight tournament champion.

Cole Konrad defeats Eric Prindle

Konrad went straight to work against Prindle, dragging him to the canvas after a very brief feeling out period. The heavyweight champion immediately secured a Kimura from half guard, bringing an end to Prindle’s title aspirations 60 seconds into their Bellator 70 encounter.

Luis Nogueira defeats Hiroshi Nakamura

Nogueira put on another impressive performance at Bellator 70, displaying his solid takedown defense. He softened up Nakamura in the first and second rounds, before putting him away in the third with a big right hand and a few follow up punches. With the win, Nogueira advances to the Bellator season six bantamweight finals, where he’ll face Marcos Galvao.

Rich Clementi defeats Derek Campos

Campos got the better of the striking exchanges early on during their Bellator 70 encounter, but Clementi eventually got the fight to the ground. While trying to get back on his feet, Campos went for an ill-advised double leg takedown, sticking his neck out in the process. Clementi capitalized on the opportunity, securing a guillotine choke and forcing the tap.

A.J. Matthews defeats Charlie Rader (KO, round two}

Jonas Billstein defeats Mike Seal (rear-naked choke, round one)

Derek Arcement defeats Blake Dufour (unanimous decision)

Kelvin Tiller defeats Jeremiah Riggs (kimura, round three)
