Former WBA super world light-welterweight champion, Amir Khan, ran into some problems during his July 14 clash against undefeated Danny Garcia, and it might end up being the fight that defines his boxing career. Khan was stopped during the fourth round of their encounter, after getting knocked down three times by the WBC light-welterweight champion.

Amir Khan insists his boxing career is far from done, but he does plan to make some serious changes.

"It is hard when you are with Manny [Pacquiao] and have to be the No.2," Khan said. "Every fight is a big fight for me. I'm at the stage where I can make no more mistakes. I need to do things that benefit me and stop thinking about others, which I've been doing my entire life. In the end, it's me who gets in the ring. … Now is the best time to sort these things out and my team will talk things over with Freddie. I'm sure he will understand because he's been a fighter too. … It's about going back to the drawing board and I'm going to have to do that."

Khan is currently eyeing a December rematch against Garcia, and it does seem to be the best option for the Brit right now. After all, he was dominating his fight against Garcia, until he ran into a big shot in the third round.

"In the fight I remember it was so easy catching him and for a split second I got complacent, lost concentration and he caught me," Khan added. "I'd love to have a rematch."

Even though Amir's loss to Garcia will set his boxing career back a step, time is certainly on his side. At only 25 years-old, Khan will have many chances to redeem himself in the future, and a win against Garcia would put him back on the right track.

However, Khan might not be able to secure a rematch against "Swift", considering the fact Garcia's father, Angel Garcia, didn't exactly seem open to the idea at the post-fight press conference.
